Having arrived in Canada on March 9, 2020, the new minister was to be installed later on in March. However, with the restrictions and uncertainties caused by Covid-19, this was postponed. However, the day has arrived, when a small commission from Presbytery will come and install the minister-elect as the congregations own minister.
The service will take place on Friday September 18, at 7pm. You can watch it live on our YouTube page.
Explanation: In the Presbyterian System of Church Government, the communicant members of a congregation vote, after prayerful consideration, on whom they believe God would have minister to them. Once this call has gone out and been accepted, the minister is then officially ‘installed’ into the congregation by the Presbytery.
Presbytery is the body of men containing the Teaching and Ruling elders from the various congregations in a specific area or denomination. The new minister is a member, or becomes a member of this Presbytery at his installation.
