Since we are Presbyterian in government, we do not look solely to our pastor for spiritual oversight. We believe in a plurality of elders.
However, at present we do not have our own elected elders, so there is a special commission of two other men from our Presbytery along with our pastor that have primary responsibility for the oversight of our congregation – these men form the Kirk Session.
Besides the Session, our congregation also benefits from the practical service and leadership of our Board of Deacons. Four men make up our Diaconate:
- Mr. Dwayne Egert is a long-time member. He and his wife Trudy live in Okotoks.
- Mr Bob Niemi lives in Calgary SE, and was one of the earliest members of the congregation under the ministry of Rev. William Whiteside.
- Mr Dirk Struck was also one of the earliest members of the congregation. He and his wife Nanja reside in Calgary NW.
- Mr Caleb Struck, a son of Dirk and Nanja, lives with his wife Yvonne in Calgary NW.
