Services Cancelled

Services Cancelled

Dear Congregation and Friends,

The North American Presbytery has advised all Sessions to consider cancelling ALL public services for the foreseeable future, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Session of Calgary FPC has just met together this evening, and, having taken advice from the local Board of Deacons, the decision was indeed taken to cancel all services.

This decision will be reviewed in early April.

What does this mean?

TWO THINGS:

  1. The Installation Service planned for Tuesday March 24 is postponed indefinitely.
  2. Also, until further notice, there will be no Church services held at 123 Pinetown Place NE.

ALTERNATIVES:

In order to continue the Ministry of the Divine Word, we intend to take advantage of some alternatives to the public gathering together:

SermonAudio: All the regular services will be prepared for and uploaded to SermonAudio.

  1. Adult Bible Class (Sunday 10am)
  2. Morning Worship (Sunday 11am)
  3. Evening Worship (Sunday 6pm)
  4. Bible Study / Prayer Meeting (Tue 7pm)

These will, to begin with, be recorded slightly ahead of time, so that they should be available at the usual times.

We have also decided to attempt to Live Broadcast (Webcast) the 3 Sunday meetings, once we’ve upgraded the Internet Speed and purchased the necessary equipment.

Website: The www.calgaryfpc.ca website is being added to, with articles (news, blogs, etc) and other downloads being added to make it more of a community resource for the congregation and visitors.

Visitation: Although this coming Monday marks the end of our 14-day isolation period, I could still potentially catch something whilst out and about. Therefore, ALL pastoral contact will be via the Telephone and Email.

I will endeavour to make contact with you all, and if you desire to get in touch with me, by all means ring me on: (825)-994-1646

Or contact me via the contact form

Those who do not have email or internet access will be contacted by phone.

REMEMBER: at this time when we do not have that regular fellowship with each other, that we should make that extra effort to ring one another.

I will endeavour to give updates, as they arise.

Ephesians 3:20–21

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
