As the beloved disciple John sits down to write what we now know as The Gospel of John, he has two purposes in mind; proving Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and inviting people believe on Him for eternal life.
In so many ways, John’s Gospel is unique to Matthew, Mark, and Luke. It includes much the others do not, and leaves out much the others include. But as we noted above, John’s purpose isn’t so much to give a life history of Jesus Christ, as it is to elaborate on particular events which give witness to His divine person.
Perhaps you’re not in the habit of attending evening meetings, but as John records after the resurrection, it was at an evening meeting where Thomas missed out on the blessing of seeing the risen Christ.
Therefore, join us each Lord’s Day evening to meet with the Saviour as our Pastor expounds the person of Christ as He is revealed in this marvellous book.
